Dr. Michael J. Sepaniak

He was predeceased by parents, Mary and Bernard Sepaniak; brother, Ben Sepaniak (Karen); and sister, Barbara Savage (Bob). He will dearly be missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Avalyn; son, Matthew Sepaniak (Jennifer); daughter, Katy Sepaniak (Joe); stepson, Micah Hickson; stepdaughters, Terra Lingerfelt and Felicia Andes; and beloved grandchildren: Elena, Rachel, Kara, Lillian, Mia, Reagan, Morgan, Isaiah, Ethan, Grace, and Hannah.

Mick earned a doctorate in Chemistry in 1980 at Iowa State University and served over forty years at UTK 's Chemistry Dept. as a professor, researcher, and Head of the Dept. for seven years. With his research and over 200 publications, he gained an international reputation. He closely mentored his graduate groups for more than three decades placing them throughout the world in academic, industrial and government positions. He was a long-term member of Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian church.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Mark Lampley, will be held on April 19th,11:00 am, at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery on Kingston Pike.
