Mary Elizabeth Muzyngo Wilkerson

Mary Elizabeth Muzyngo Wilkerson, age 75, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 9, 2024. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church. Mary graduated from Rule High School in 1966, and worked for Knoxville City and Knox County Schools from 1966 until retiring on July 10, 2015. She loved spending time with her family working in her flower garden and having many conversations with God. Preceded in death by parents, Clyde Muzyngo and Elsie Katherine McMahan Muzyngo; grandparents, Sarah Etler Taylor Muzyngo and Doc Muzyngo, Isaac Dickson McMahan and Nellie May Inman McMahan; and brother James Clyde Muzyngo. Survivors, beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Tiffany Wilkerson, Jason and Julie Wilkerson, and (step-son) Marty Wilkerson; grandchildren (her Precious Jewels) Madison, Paige, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Zander, and step-grandson, Zack; several siblings and their spouses; and special life long friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, May 13, 2024 with the funeral service to follow at Southside Baptist Church, 1620 W. Gov. John Sevier, Knoxville, TN 37920. Rev. Luke Wilkerson will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Dr. Knoxville, TN 37912, to go in procession to the 1 pm graveside service in Lynnhurst Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church Missions.
