Mary Maxine Reynolds Thurman

THURMAN, MARY MAXINE - age 84, of South Knoxville, passed away January 19, 2015 at UT Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Maxine was a charter member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church for 58 years where she was involved in numerous ministries. She was also a charter member of the Gospel Three trio and sang all across the East Tennessee area. She was preceded in death by husband of 46 years, Rev. James R. Thurman; grandson, Jerry Snyder, Jr.; one brother, four sisters, and parents. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and David White, Janice and Jerry Snyder, Sr.; grandchildren, Becky (Wayne) Ratledge, Brad (Chasity) Matthews, John (Stephanie) Snyder; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Snyder, Jessica Snyder, Bladen and Addison Matthews, Lance Ratledge, Taylor Snyder; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Paul Hinchey, Edna and David Hubbs; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the University of Tennessee Medical Center for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends Friday, January 23, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm, Rev.
