Mary Catherine (Hensley) Sharp

March 29, 1932-September 18, 2024

Mary Catherine Hensley Sharp stepped into heaven on September 18, 2024, leaving a legacy of a beautiful life, well-lived. Mary was born in the Bradbury Community in Roane County, TN in 1932. She graduated from Roane County High School in 1949 and attended Knoxville Business College. Mary worked at the Y-12 plant where she met and married Clifton Sharp in 1962 and moved to the Karns Community.

For 62 years, Mary was an active member of Grace Baptist Church and served in many ministries throughout the years. She worked in the 2-year-old class for 20+ years with her friend Gail Galloway and was part of the team that prepared food for bereaved families. Most recently, she enjoyed being part of the Legacy Ministry and the Fidelis SS Class.

In her own quiet way, Mary gave her whole heart to being Mom and Grandmom, and we’ll remember her beautiful smile, her kind and loving heart, her gentle soul, and her faithful spirit.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Sharp, parents, Lela and Lantie Hensley, brothers and sisters-in law Everette Hensley, Sam Hensley, Marlin (Shirley) Hensley, Erwin Collins, Jerry Clark, Wilma Sharp, Doris and Daril Keller, Bob and Carolyn Fritts, and Yvonne Sharp.

Left to cherish her memory: Daughter Julie Sharp, Son Paul Sharp, Granddaughter Ashley Sharp, Grandson Eric Sharp and Granddaughter-in-Love Heather Sharp, Sister Ann Clark, Sister-in-Law Norma Hensley, Sister-in-Law Dot Hensley, Brother and Sister-in-Law Ken and Polly Hensley, Brother-in-Law Bill Sharp, Special Friend Thera Carr.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 7171 Oak Ridge Hwy, Knoxville TN 37931, with service to follow. Dr. Frank Catanzaro officiating. Family and friends will meet for graveside service Monday, September 23, 2024 at 10:45 am at Highland Memorial Gardens for a 11:00 am service. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
