Mary Ann Ownby Jennings, age 91, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2024. Mary Ann graduated from Knox High in 1950. She retired from TVA after 25+ years after working in administration in the construction division. Mary Ann was a long time member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church and First Concord Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hugh Grayson Ownby the father of their five children; second husband, Harold Jennings; sisters, Johnnie Brocato and Jean Cameron, and a precious grandson, Chandler Mackey.
Mourning her loss are sons, Michael Arvin Ownby (Cathy), Jeffrey Hugh Ownby (Debby); daughters, Nancy Denise Ownby, Melissa Thompson (John) and Katie Mackey (Tim). Mary Ann will be greatly missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren including, Nancy K. Gore (Ray), Amy Crowe, Lyndsay Morgan (Robert), Lucas Thompson, Stratton Mackey, Deanna Gervais and Valerie Forrest; great grandchildren, Eden Crowe, Isaac Cole Morgan, Spencer Gore, Sumner Gore and Emery Gore. Mary Ann will be missed by her sister, Rebecca Ellison (Jack Ellison), brothers-in-law, Rex Ownby (Patsy), Jimmy Ownby and Patty Ownby and multiple nieces nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express genuine gratitude to Renee Scott for the continuous assistance, friendship and loving care she brought to our mother.
A visitation will be held for Mary Ann on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1pm at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home with a 2:30 funeral service. A graveside service will be held inside Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery at 3pm.
