Mary Sue Miller, age 86, of Knoxville passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Ft. Sanders Hospital. She was born in Tupelo, MS on April 14, 1938. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mary Sue was a graduate of Central High School, Carson Newman College, and received her Masters Degree from University of Tennessee. She taught school at Central High School for 38 years before retiring to be a full time babysitter for her grandchildren. Mary Sue was a member of the Central High School Wall of Fame. Preceded in death by husband of 51 years, James Ed Miller.
Survived by son and daughter, Dan and Kim Miller; grandchildren, Jackson Miller (Alyssa), Natalie Miller, and Megan Miller; twin sister, Martha Beggs Jenkins; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 pm Sunday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr., Knoxville, TN. The family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 10:45 am Monday for the 11 am graveside service. Rev. Ron Mouser will officiate.
