Mary Ruth (Jones) Hayes, age 80, long-time Knoxville resident, passed away at Shannondale Nursing Home on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. She was employed many years at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Jones and Ida Hollifield; sister, Barbara Spina; brother, Billy Hollifield; brother-in-law, Carl Whited; and sons Gary and Ricky French. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Hannah French; brother, Charles “Buck” Jones and wife Ann; sister, Dottie Whited; brother-in-law, Donald Spina; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bill Brooks and Wanda Dills. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the funeral service immediately following.
