Mickey Mee, born on April 7, 1938, passed away on October 12, 2013, at the age of 75 of complications from a serious C. Diff infection. She maintained her vitality and wit throughout, courageously overcoming numerous trials. Beloved by her friends and family, Mickey was a strong, funny, and compassionate woman. She touched the hearts and lives of many and will never be forgotten. Her family rejoices in her memory, of times together at Christmas and Thanksgiving, her awesome water-skiing, her infamous love of boogie boarding, her enthusiasm for dancing and travel, and her loyal support of the Lady Vols. Mickey passed on her enthusiasm for the water by patiently teaching dozens to swim and ride the waves. As bright as she was lovely, she read widely, with favorite authors ranging from Harper Lee to Janet Evanovich, and was first choice on family Trivial Pursuit teams. Mickey was a skilled businesswoman; she lovingly managed Hillbilly Auto Parts for over 40 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bill Mee, Sr., her brother Tony Charles James, and niece Amy Kington. She is survived by her husband of almost 10 years, Fred Arnold, her sister Pat Kington (Barry Davis) and her brother Tom James (Anna Marie), her children Sherry Mee Bell (Steve McCallum), Patti (John Antol), Cindy (Sonny Rule), Susie Mee, and Bill Mee, Jr., Mike Arnold and Mark Arnold (Luci), her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ross, Ryan, Daniel (Ashley), Lauren (Joey), Jesse, Maddie, Natalie (Terrell Sr.), Kylie, Cole, Terrell and Tierra, long-time friend and business partner Doug Acuff (Tenora), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dozens of friends who cherished and relied on her. A receiving of friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Riverdale School, 7009 Thorngrove Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914 on October 19th, with a celebration of Mickey’s life beginning at 6 PM.
