To know Noelle was to love her. Her infectious laugh filled a room with palpable joy. Her bright blue eyes comforted the most broken hearts. And her hugs made any stranger feel welcome.
She grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and spent her twenties traveling the world as a flight attendant for ATA Airlines based in Detroit. Once she decided to settle down, she attended Pellissippi State Community College to receive her associates degree in graphic design and started working at Homes and Land Magazine.
In 1998, Noelle met the southern boy next door and fell in love with him and his two children. She joyfully took on her new role of stepmom to Mara and Cameron when she married Greg in 2000. Greg and Noelle adopted their beautiful daughter Layla in 2005 to complete their family.
Whether she was putting together flower arrangements, baking with her mom and daughter, redesigning a room, or planning the next perfectly themed party, it was rare to see Noelle sitting still, unless she was shoe shopping online. She was able to combine her love of shopping and her business mind when she started working as a Skin Care Consultant for Rodan + Fields.
Throughout her life, Noelle played many different roles: daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, Uma, entrepreneur, and designer. Out of all these roles, the one she enjoyed and excelled at the most was being Layla’s “Mama Bear.” Through social media, she was able to inspire and encourage other moms of special needs children all over the world and connect with other women fighting breast cancer. She was strong, brave, and courageous until she took her final breath surrounded by family.
Noelle was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Sherwood Cain.
Those left to cherish Noelle’s memory include her husband, David Gregory; father, Dr. Terry Cain and wife, Dr. Amy Cain; brother, Timothy Cain; daughters, Layla Mackenzie and Mara Elizabeth Beeler and husband Matthew Dean Beeler; son, Cameron Scott and wife, Katie Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Barrett Dean Beeler and Riley Claire; in-laws, Bobby and Judy Walker; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 6, 2023 between the hours of 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville with a service to follow at 2:00 PM. Following the service, family and friends will go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville for an Interment Service. Please join the family in wearing a purple article of clothing and your most fabulous shoes or purse in honor of Noelle's love for fashion.
