

Kathy Cheek of Knoxville, 67, was a loving aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to many. Kathy passed away peacefully at the University of TN Hospital due to complications of COPD. Kathy is a member at Lincoln Park Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, E.G. and Virginia Cheek, her sister Donna White, cousin Mike Shoffner and her grandparents Dillo and Alva Sharp. Survivors include her niece Summer Crawford (Josh Ferguson), her great niece and nephew Kendall and Nevada Lusch. Her favorite aunt Glenda Shoffner and cousins Kim (Steve) McKinney. Phil Walters, Hillary (Randy) Little and their children and many more cousins. Her pet dog Dixie and a special friend Mike Jones.
Kathy worked at DOE as an Executive Admin in the Engineering Division, then Kathy worked as Executive Admin at the University of TN in the Alumni Department, then Kathy worked as a Controller at Big Orange Check Cashing. She enjoyed all the Vols sports, enjoying the sunshine and tanning, listening to Country music and calling in to win prizes on the air. The prizes she would give to a friend or family member. Kathy's giving didn’t stop there, she was a registered donor with The Tennessee Donor Service, she donated her eyes and her tissues to someone in need.
The family is asking whoever is reading this to please stop smoking and to spread the word. Receiving of friends will be Thursday, April 17 from 4-6pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 West Adair Drive. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am on Friday, April 18 for an 11:00am interment service officiated by Randy Little.
