I will always think of my Aunt Judy with so much fondness and love. We shared the same birthday, December 25th, and every year as I was growing up, we would talk on the phone on Christmas Day and say, "Happy birthday!" "Happy birthday to you, too!" Every single year, we would laugh about sharing our birthday and talk about what cake we had that year and how we'd decorated our trees. I remember the love and laughter of all of those calls, and the postcards, letters, and book recommendations in between Christmases. I was always in so much awe of Aunt Judy's creativity and talent, and even though I'm in my 30s now, I still treasure a stuffed gray cat in a pink dress she knitted for me. I wish I'd had more chances to visit Aunt Judy and all of my cousins in Tennessee, but I am thinking of you all with love and will forever hold my wonderful, witty, kind Aunt Judy, my birthday buddy, in my heart. 

Judy was a very thoughtful person in a quiet way. We shared a love of flowers and family. She surprised me with a “flower” bracket (that she made) - just for me! Very dainty, colorful-perfect in every way. I wear it often and think of her. 🌸. She left a beautiful “mark” on this world. 😘

My father once took us - Judy, Bill, and me - with him on a business trip up through Colorado, and as we rode along, we could see the Great Plains stretching out in one direction and in the other, the Rocky Mountains in the distance. Judy said, "Look at those mountains. You can't even see them!" We all laughed. Judy had a way of capturing a moment, saying something that at first seemed to make no sense, but upon reflection, made perfect sense. It was a hazy day and you could barely see the mountains. In the haze there was only the undulating line of the mountain tops separating earth from the heavens. We are so sad this wonderful spirit is gone from us, but we'll never forget how she taught us to look at things, then look again and for the first time, really see what it was we were looking at. We'll miss you, Judy, but we'll never forget how you taught us to see! 

Judy and I became sisters thru marriage and continued our sisterly connection even after the marriage ended. Thru the next 60 years we shared stories of marriage, pregnancies, childbirth, family dynamics, stories of our children, hopes, dreams and creative endeavors as only sisters can.  We were in each other’s corner, sharing laughter (and hers was contagious), tears when thing were rough and pride for each other’s achievements. Judy was incredibly creative with jewelry making, and excelled as a seamstress, making bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses and  winning a national award for one of her outstanding designs. As we watched our children become parents and were bestowed with the grandmother role, we repeated the sharing we had once done when our children were young. We both loved this time in our lives and were proud of the young lives we got to share.
The bond we shared was by choice but it could not have been any stronger than what any sisters share. I will miss my “Sis” but I feel fortunate to have had the years we shared. With love, Sue Lynn


Donnie, Mark & Larissa - I'm so saddened to hear of your mom's passing! I loved growing up with you guys at "Little Calvary" as we called it when we all landed & saw each again at the "big FBC".  I have to work this Sunday, but I will be thinking of your family, and lifting you up during this challenging valley.  Please reach out if you want to have coffee & lament together being parent-less on this earth.  (((((HUGS)))))

I will never forget the love and kindness you have always shown to me. Your out of the blue text messages telling me you were praying for Seth and my family meant the world to me. Even during your own battle, you showed up for me. When you said you were praying, I knew 100% that you were. 

You are the one that got Larissa and I interested in yoga. Of course, you were doing it before it was ever “cool.”  You could literally do anything you put your mind to, and you were never afraid to try new things. Your talents were endless! Seriously! I will always cherish our visits and conversations. 

It is comforting to know that you are now completely healed and with the Lord. I love you, Judy. You were one special lady. 


I am so sorry to see this.  She and I were great high school friends and in each other's weddings.  Praying for all her family.  She was a truly special person.  

Your  mom was one of  the smartest and strongest person that I have ever known . She could make or create anything that she set her mind on. She tried to remain  positive thru all her trials, and they were many. She always  remained  strong in her faith  and a testimony to all who knew her. She will be missed but I know that she is at peace. She loved her kids and grandkids and was so proud of you all. I am blessed to have known her. I am so sorry for your loss.
