Burnett, John Vester –age 46 of Seymour, passed away on Saturday September 25, 2010 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a decorated and disabled Army Veteran. He retired from the United States Postal Services. He was a member of NALC Branch 419 union and the TSALC. He held several union positions for both the local and state offices. He was also a member of the DAV Chapter 94. Preceded in death by father, Billy Eugene Perkey and aunt, Darlene Waldner. Survivors; mother, Joyce Ann (Mize) Burnett of Seymour; very special friend, Cindy Ogle; brothers, Billy Eugene Burnett of Seymour, David Matthew Burnett and special friend, Teresa Black of Seymour, Jerry Lee Burnett and wife Lacey; sister, Mary Joyce (Burnett) Garner and husband Michael of Knoxville; daughters, Heather Renee (Burnett) Boling of Seymour and grandchildren, NeeNee, Randy Jr. and Elizabeth, Ashley Nichole (Burnett) Silvia and husband Charles of Georgia and grandchildren , Tomas and Jacob, Christina Beth Burnett of Knoxville, Jessica Victoria (Burnett) Barbrey; and husband, Jeremiah of Knoxville; grandchildren, Gavin and Adeline; Kenneth (Thumper) Hoskins of Knoxville, “who should have been my brother”; special Aunts Evelyn Crawford and Teresa (Perkey) Johnson; Granny Merle Sue Fulton of Knoxville and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm followed at 8:00 p.m. for a celebration of John’s life in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, Rev. Jerry Harris officiating. Family and friends will meet at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, October 1, 2010 for an 11:30 a.m. interment service in the Rotunda.
