He loved his dog, Zeke and three cats.
He was preceded in death by wife, Virginia Lee Dunlap Cagle; parents, Frederick Cagle and Gracie Cagle; sister, Glenda Cagle and brother-in-law, Anthony Sharp.
He is survived by son, James Cagle Jr.; daughters, Jamie Cruise and husband, Steve; Jennifer Cagle Washam; brother, Charles Cagle and wife Sandra, sisters, Darlene Sharp and Annette Catlett and husband, Darrell.
