Jewell Lynn Cox

Jewell Lynn Cox, age 95 of Knoxville, TN went to her eternal home on the morning of October 31, 2022. While she will be missed by many, we are thankful that she is again in the arms of her beloved husband and cherished son. Jewell married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, George Cox in December of 1949. They spent 50 years happily married and had 4 children whom they were so incredibly proud of. Jewell dedicated her whole life to her family and was very active in church and her children's school activities. She was a member of Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church. Jewell had a beautiful smile and a light in her eyes that touched everyone she met. Her family will always remember her as being a gifted artist with a love for cooking, laughing, and the color blue. Jewell believed that a positive attitude was the key to a long, happy life. Her love and laughter will be greatly missed.

Jewell was preceded in death by parents, Virgil Lynn and Ann Davis; husband, George Cox; son, George Edward Cox; brother, Frank Davis; son-in-law, Hugh Joe Davis. She is survived by children, Susanne Cook (Tom), Jeanne Davis, Dr. David Cox (Angie); daughter-in-law, Dr. Luanne Cox; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Ed Davis; many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Thursday, November 3rd from 5-7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with a funeral service at 7pm. Burial will take place Friday, November 4th at Lynnhurst Cemetery meeting at the graveside at 12:45pm for a 1pm committal service. Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 W.
