Jean Ann Hampson, age 84, of Farmersburg, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at AHC of Knoxville formally Shannondale. She was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church. Jean went to business school and received a year degree in Business. She spent many years raising 3 children and later got a job at UT Medical Center billing department where she worked for 25 years and retired at the age of 72. Jean Ann loved visiting with family and friends. She never met a stranger. She crocheted and knitted and enjoyed her flowers and plants and in her younger years bowling. She was very active in her church and enjoyed baking for the pumpkin patch in the fall. She also played piano and organ for the church in her younger years.
Preceded in death by husband, Dave Hampson; her natural parents and adoptive parents; sisters, Rosie Grzybowski and Virginia Reedy; brothers, Don Trout and Virgil Trout
Survived by children, Rajeana and David Owens, Bradley Greggs, Steven and Sugiko Greggs, and step-children, Dan and Mona Hampson, David and Carol Hampson, and Cheryl and Jim Terryberry; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A special thank you to Gentiva Hospice care, AHC Knoxville, Shannondale. Their kindness and caring for Jean Ann was exceptional.
A visitation for Jean will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Norwood United Methodist Church, 2110 Merchant Dr, Knoxville, TN 37912. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Bill Rimmer officiating. A graveside service will be Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
