EDMONDS, JAMES DEE (Possum), age 47 of Mascot, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 6:18 p.m. He had been sick for a long time. He got saved on May 12, 1977 and was a member of Green Acres Missionary Baptist Church. He worked for Knox County Highway Dept. for 21 years. Preceded in death by his father, Charles D. Edmonds. He leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years together, Tina Edmonds; his only son, Matthew Edmonds; his mother, Eloise Edmonds; special brother-in-law, Rick Rayfield and wife Denise; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Tchad Griffin and staff at NPG. To all the nurses and doctors in ICU, Sister Martha, and Tennova Healthcare, Thank You. Pallbearers: Bobby Rayfield, Ricky Rayfield, George Majors, Sammy Dyer, Dustin Davis, Dennis Davis, Richard A. Hutchson, Jerry Cochran and Greg Cochran. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Green Acres Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Leonard Goin and Rev. Ricky Hayes officiating. Following the service, the family will proceed to East View Cemetery, 1320 Andrew Johnson Highway, for the interment.
