Jack Richard Morrison

Morrison, Lt. Jack Richard, US Navy, Retired, age 71, of Louisville, Tennessee passed away December 11, 2017. Jack was a United States Navy veteran with 24 years of service. Jack enlisted in the US Navy in 1967 and served aboard the USS Eldorado (LCC-11), USS Jason (AR-8) and USS Thomaston (LSD-28). He earned commission as a Lieutenant during his service and retired from the Navy in 1990. His last duty assignment was with the Naval Reserve Center in Knoxville. After retiring with the Navy, he was assistant operations manager at House Hasson hardware. Jack loved his model trains and pool time with “mom”. He loved his grandkids with every bit of him. Preceded in death by father, Bert Owens; mother, Los Rogers; son, JR Morrison and grandson, Donovan Gibson. Jack is survived by wife of 26 years, Linda M. Morrison; sons, Kevin(Michelle) Morrison, Sean Morrison, Ernie(Amelia) Gibson and Andy (Jana) Gibson; grandsons, Deacon Gibson, Jaiden Morrison, Knowah Gibson, Brayden Gibson and Jamie Morrison; granddaughters, Abbie Gibson, Ashleigh Morrison, Braylee Gibson; stepmother, Mildred Owens; sister, Pat (Clint) Simmons and brother, Rick (Cynthia) Rogers; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Tim Lawson, Keith Solomon, Vickie Mantooth and Dana Chandler. Inurnment service will be held with full military honors at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. John Sevier Hwy, Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 2 PM. Rev. Rick Phipps officiating. After Christmas a Celebration of Life service will be announced for a special man who was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
