Jack Monroe, whose voice and songs will forever be in our hearts, went peacefully to be with the Lord Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was preceded in death by many loved ones but none as dear as his wife and angel, Betty, who may wait for him no longer.
A pillar to his community, he was known by many people for many things. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jack will be missed by countless friends and family members. He was known well by many friends and patrons as the owner/operator of Jacks Breeze Thru Market, and will always be remembered for his theater: Monroe Country Music Jamboree.
Jack was preceded in death by spouse, Betty Monroe; parents, James Louis Monroe and Trula Hobby Monroe; brothers, Everett (Anna) Monroe, Mack (Carol) Monroe, and Ross Monroe; sister, Jeannette (Ray) Lane; son-in-law, Steven Wolfe. He is survived by children, Jackie (Cindy) Monroe, Jr., Valerie Monroe Wolfe, Gregory (Laura) Monroe, Timothy Monroe, Darryl (Tina) Monroe, Eric (Angie) Monroe, April Monroe; grandchildren, Jacqulyn Monroe, Jackie Monroe III, Justin (Caroline) Wolfe, Matthew Monroe, Nikki King, Leah Monroe, Christopher (Madison) King, Ericka Monroe, Savannah Monroe, Kevin Hunt; great grandchildren, Andrew "Bradyn" Broussard, Annaleigh King, Izabella King, Sophie Jones; sister, Anna Gay (Jerry) Lane; brother, Gene (Carol) Monroe; sister-in-law, Sue Monroe; many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Monday, January 22nd from 4-6pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with funeral service following at 6pm. Graveside service will take place Tuesday, January 23rd at 1pm at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
