Henry "Hank" William Berry, age 88, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Henry served in the U.S. Air Force. After his enlistment he worked in the ICBM Missile fields in Arizona. He went on to work for 10 years at Kennedy Space Center during the Apollo and Space Shuttle Missions as a Quality Engineer Supervisor. He then worked for Rockwell and Boeing as a quality control engineer in Palmdale and Lancaster, CA. Hank and his family then moved back to Tennessee where he began a long career with K-25 and Y-12 where he retired in 2000. He was an honorary lifetime member of the East Roane County Volunteer Fire Department. Hank was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Berry; mother, Nina Bell Berry; son, Robert James Oldham; brothers, Lester Berry and Ike Berry and sisters, Inez Krailick, Ethel Benson and Edith Dunn.
Hank is survived by his wife, Mabel "Mae" Berry; daughter, Christy Berry and fiance Darrell Wolfenbarger; grandchildren, Kayden and Mackenzie Wolfenbarger and Bentley Wilder along with several grandchildren; step children, Lisa and John Oldham; special friends, Scott and Beverly Wood along with many other friends and church family.
Hank's family will gather at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 2:00pm for a Graveside Service with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN from 4:00pm - 7:00pm with Hank's Celebration of Life to follow at 7:00pm. Pastor Dewayne Howard will officiate.
