Greg was born on August 29, 1959 in San Diego, CA. Because his father was in the Navy, he grew up all around the country. He attended James Barry Robinson and graduated as Valedictorian in 1977. He got his first motorcycle at 17 and motorcycling became his lifelong passion. He had a long career in the oil field working for the same company for over 37 years.
In 1978, Greg met Judy Quaschnick while they were both attending the University of Southwestern Louisiana. They were married in 1979 and went on to raise two daughters: Bridgette and Danielle. After becoming grandparents, they sold their home in Louisiana and moved to Tennessee in 2010. Greg and Judy enjoyed improving their property by tending gardens, splitting wood, and moving rocks. They enjoyed taking day trips either on the motorcycle or in the Jeep.
After Judy’s death from pancreatic cancer in 2019, he married Jacquelyn Correll in 2020. They enjoyed serving in ministry together; especially their roles in the Blount County chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association/Smoky Mountain Disciples where he served as Chapter President and previously as Road Captain and had the nickname “Road Runner”.
Greg is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Correll-Stelly; his daughters, Bridgette Boudreaux (Philip) and Danielle Molloy (Patrick); his adopted son Jarod Correll; his grandchildren, Ethan, Asher, and Evangelynn Boudreaux, and his brother; Wayne Stelly and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Q. Stelly, his parents, J. McNolan Cdr. USN Retired and Flo L. Stelly, and his sister Michelle S. North.
The receiving of friends will be on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 9:30-11:30 am at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, with a procession to New Life Family Worship Center, 8735 Highway 72N Loudon, TN where the Celebration of Life Memorial Services will begin at 12:30PM. A private graveside service will be held on Monday 7/29 at 11:00am for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Blount County Chapter of Christian Motorcycle Association/Smoky Mountain Disciples (#1408), an organization Greg served in these last four years (mem# 189811). The family would also suggest supporting Juvenile Diabetes Foundation since type 1 diabetes affects his son-in-law and grandson, or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network due to the loss of the first wife and mom to pancreatic cancer.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Stelly, Jarod Correll, Philip Boudreaux, Ethan Boudreaux, Patrick Molloy, and Brandon Paille.
