On February 21st, 1944, Knoxville announced the birth of an extraordinary man, son of the late Hugh and Betty Moore. Frank also joins his wife, Gayle Moore, in his new Heavenly abode. Frank is survived by son, Frank Moore Jr (Amanda Moore), daughter Rachel Price (Stephen Price), and step daughter Christy Underwood. He is also survived by grandsons: Jacob Davis, Joshua Underwood, Isaiah Underwood, Eli and Jonas Moore, as well as two granddaughters: Elizabeth and Lyla Kay Price. Frank is also survived by many brothers and sisters.
After his 1962 graduation from West High School in Knoxville, TN, Frank joined the US ARMY becoming a Spec4 in the 82nd Airborne Infantry. Frank was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1966.
He served as Utilities and Maintenance Supervisor at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge, TN for 30+ years.
During his free time, Frank spent every moment available aiding in the betterment and care of crippled and burned children with the Kerbela Shriners Hospital. He was a proud 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason for over 50 years and a Kerbela Shriner, member of the Karns Beaver Ridge Lodge. Frank was the Past Master of Beaver Ridge Lodge 356. He was also an active member of the Clown Core with Shriners. He would always say, "life is giving," and he lived every moment this way. It was shown in his volunteering to help and give to everyone he came into contact with. He was, no doubt, a devoted servant of God.
There will be a graveside service at 11am on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Shriner Hospital of Knoxville, TN in loving memory of Frank Moore.
