Ethel Donna Harvey, 88 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024. Ethel was a dedicated beautician for fifty years and enjoyed working from a salon as well as doing hair from home. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Powell, Tennessee and was very involved at Langwood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. She cherished her granddaughter and enjoyed taking her on daily adventures. Ethel’s hobbies included puzzles, church activities, and traveling. Her favorite places to visit included Lake Tahoe, Mt. Rushmore, and beaches in Florida, but she was mostly fond of The Smoky Mountains. Before arthritis set in, Ethel enjoyed crocheting and knitting blankets for family and friends. She was an avid seamstress and sewed her children’s clothes, a formal for her granddaughter and even her own wedding dress. She also enjoyed painting pictures for loved ones. She had a soft heart for animals, especially kittens and a fiery passion for politics. Above all, she took care of her family.

She is survived by her sisters: Opal Fortner, Dorothy Bolin,
Daughter: Janice Axsom
Son: Johnny Cain
Granddaughter and her husband Krystal Axsom and Nasser Askari
Great Grand children: Loic Askari, Avi Askari, and Niko Askari.
She was also known as Ethel Black, Cain and Ferguson.
The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday at Weaver Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 am Saturday at Bell's Campground Cemetery for a 10 am graveside service.
