Elizabeth Anne Morgan Fowler, age 85, passed away gracefully and peacefully Tuesday, May 12, 2015 surrounded by members of her family. Elizabeth was born July 21, 1929 in Knoxville. She was a graduate of Powell High School. She was married for 64 years to her best friend and husband, Curtis. She was born with love in her heart, love that only became stronger and deeper over the years. As a Sunday School teacher, choir member and WMU director at West Lonsdale Baptist Church for many years, Elizabeth shared the love of her Lord with many. Later, when she and Curt moved, she became a member of First Baptist Church Concord, where she was an active member of the Anthony Conklin Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Curtis Fowler, her parents, Jay and Susan Elizabeth Morgan, and her brothers, Jay, Lynn, and Howell E. (Bud) Morgan. She is survived by her son, Larry Curtis Fowler (Peggy) of Knoxville, daughter Kathy Fowler Wilkerson (Rick) of Cary, N.C.; her daughter, Kristi Fowler Paczkowski of Knoxville, grandchildren Joseph Fowler (Miranda) and Jeremy Fowler (Sarah), Brittany and Eli Wilkerson, and Seth and Caleb Paczkowski; her sisters, Margaret Gilbert, Barbara Ferguson (John), Dorothy Quinley (Warren) and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many members of the Fowler family, whom she loved very much. Elizabeth was the wife of Curt Fowler, one of the Disaster Relief founders and brilliant leaders in Tennessee, and also one of the original World Changers founders and leader. Elizabeth was a DR volunteer who served mostly on the Feeding Unit. She was a huge supporter of Curt, and the rest of our ministry. She was sweet and kind and always prayed for them, especially in times of stressful deployment such as 9-11, the four storms of ’04, and Katrina. Elizabeth made huge sacrifices to assist Curt in his Disaster Relief and World Changer ministries. The family would like to thank the staff of Manor House Assisted Living for their kindness and care in creating a loving environment, and the Covenant Hospice staff for guiding us through this process, loving our mom, and helping her make this transition with grace. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to www.emergemissions.org or by mail to Emerge Missions, Inc., 3444 Hampreston Way NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144 or call 770-605-0038, or to the Knox County Association of Baptists (Check payable to: KCAB Disaster Relief, with “for Elizabeth Fowler” on the memo line) to PO Box 11028, Knoxville, TN 37939. Family will receive friends Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at First Baptist Church Concord with funeral service to follow at 5:00pm. Family and friends will meet Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 2:00pm graveside service. Funeral arrangements are by Berry Funeral Home. You are invited to share your condolences and sign Mrs. Fowler’s guest book on www.berryfuneralhome.com.
