Butler, Edna Boles, age 90, of South Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Edna enjoyed reading and studying the Bible and had a close relationship with her Savior. Edna had many interests including gardening, cooking, baking, sewing and reading. Her greatest pride was her family and she loved spending time with them. Edna was employed with Robertshaw Controls from 1973 to 1989 and worked faithfully as a purchasing agent. She was preceded in death by husband of 68 years, James Edgar Butler; parents, Edward E. Boles and May Bell Williams Boles; sisters, Edith Warwick, Gladys McNew, Frances McCullough, Mae McCuiston. Survivors : daughter, Susan Gabriel; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kathie Butler; grandchildren, Krista, Stacey, Alex, Austin, Abby and Anna; special niece, Marcella Boles; special neighborhood friends, Louise Cook, Pat Baker, Ruth Ann Berrier, and Kathy Henderson. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Mary, Christina, Maria, and Phil with University of Tennessee Hospice. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to South-Doyle High Band Boosters, 2020 Tipton Station Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 pm, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway.
