Doris D. Rutledge

Doris D. Rutledge, age 83, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, at Meadow View Senior Living. Doris lived a life grounded in faith and devotion to her Lord and Savior, leaving a legacy of kindness, love, and strength that touched the lives of everyone around her.

Doris was a member of West Hills Baptist Church, where she found joy in fellowship and service. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Wesleyan University, pursuing her calling to help others as both an administrative assistant and an elementary school teacher. Her work made a difference in her community and inspired those around her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Alvin Rutledge, as well as her father, Houston Dickey; her mother, Dorothy Step; and her sister, Sarah Womack. She leaves behind her sister, Joy Love; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Rutledge; cousin, Sally Shepard; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Doris's life on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM.
