We can only imagine the happy homecoming with family gone before. There to welcome her are: her mother and father Ola & Theodore Rudder; her husband Charles Ronald Hill; their son Derrick Hill; and two precious grandsons, Brandon Bradley and Michael Hill.
Doris was born on November 26, 1934 and was the only child of Ola and Theodore. She was the apple of her mother’s eye, they began every morning with a phone call - one of many throughout the day. What a blessing they now see each other face to face, together forever. Doris and Ronald were married in 1953 and raised four wonderful children in their modest, loving home in the Ramsey community. The kids walked to school and came home with a home cooked supper every single day. She was very proud of each one of her children. She loved them with all of her heart and frequently said “I wish I’d had more kids.”
Left to carry on her legacy of love are: her daughter Terri Hill Terry and her husband Bill; her son Danny Hill and his wife Sue; Tim Hill and his wife Deanna. The loves of her life were her grandchildren: Tanner Hill, Brooke Bradley Woody, Lauren Foote Grills, Carsen Elizabeth Hill and Kendall Hill Crisp, and Brandon’s wife Stephanie Bradley. Mamaw also had the joy of being a great grandmother to: Blake and Brandon, Cayden, Addie and Carter, and Josie & Sunny.
Doris was the best mother in law and friend. She was famous for her hugs and sweet tea, with an extra dash of sweet! She loved the Lord and knew where she was going, her heavenly home. We thank you God for releasing your precious Doris to a new and better life, her eternal home. We love you forever Mamaw.
There will be a graveside service on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Asbury Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend. After the graveside we will celebrate her life at Rivershack Farm. All are welcome to come by.
