Denise D. Manz

In loving memory of our mother, Denise Donna Manz, who passed away on 01/27/2023. Denise was the devoted wife of Steven Thomas Manz Sr. and loving mother of Steven Thomas Manz Jr. (Tiffany Irene Manz) and David Joseph Manz (Heather Marie Manz). Affectionately referred to as: Mom, Grandma, Nonny, Aunt, Cousin, Sister, Niece, Angel, DeeCee, and much more, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Our mother was a selfless, caring, giving, and fearless person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a true Mama-bear and defended her family and anyone she knew with all she had. Denise was a strong woman who faced every challenge in life, starting with her poor upbringing in Brooklyn, NY. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Growing up, Mom was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. As a mom of boys, she was also not afraid to tell us the truth despite how it made us feel. Denise was a woman of strong faith and instilled in us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.

Denise was a true example of commitment and love. Despite the hardest of times, she and our father remained married and committed friends and lovers to their last breaths. Mom was by her husband Steven's side as he took his final breath, and her love for him carried her through until she passed. Their marriage provided us a true example of their vows "In sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, in richness or poverty…" Her life is evidence of her faith in Jesus. She would always say, "God is Love, and where you find love, you will find God." She now basks eternally in that love, in Jesus' name.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 PM Thursday, February 16, 2023 with a memorial service to follow at the Weaver Funeral Home located at 5815 Western Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921. Funeral Service will be held at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery located at 5901 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 promptly at 1 PM Friday, February 17, 2023 where Denise will be eternally interred next to her husband, and the love of her life, Steven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for cancer research.

Mother, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
