David Marshall Ellis

With a heavy heart, we announce David Marshall Ellis, age 62, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023. David was born June 12, 1960 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the son of the late Marshall and Opal Ellis. He was the oldest of 2 children.

David graduated from Farragut High School in 1978. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, beach vacations, mountain getaways, listening to music, watching westerns and watching the Tennessee Vols. David worked as an inspector and supervisor for the installation of water and wastewater infrastructure. He worked for Farragut Ditching Company as a Project Supervisor for 26 years. He also worked as Project Representative for Jacobs Engineering, W.K Dixson and Tellico Area Services System.

David is predeceased by his parents, Marshall and Opal Ellis; aunt and uncle, Sarah and Eddie Burke; cousins, Martin Ellis (Marty) and Edward L. Burke Jr. (Robbie). He is survived by his sons. Evan M. Ellis and Justin M. Ellis; former spouse, Christine Thoe Ellis; significant other, Felicia French Kelley and sister, Kim Ellis York.

A visitation will be held for David on Saturday, April 29,2023 from 10am-12pm with a memorial service to follow. David will be laid to rest at Edgewood Cemetery at a later date.
