Courtney “Brooke” Crass, 34, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Brooke was born on November 1, 1988 to DeAngela Black and Alan Crass. However, she was lovingly raised by her “Popaw and MiMi” Bob and Brenda Black. Brooke was an excellent student, graduating with honors from Fulton High School. She went on to obtain her LPN license and spent the majority of her nursing career caring for children as a school nurse with Knox County Schools. Brooke’s greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her son, Landon Lightfoot. He was her pride and joy and she loved him with her whole heart. She loved to tell everyone about all of Landon’s many accomplishments in school and athletics. Brooke was immensely proud of her large family. She loved family gatherings, family vacations, and her Mimi’s home cooking. Many beautiful and fun memories were made with her large group of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brooke was a loyal friend and loved others fiercely. Brooke loved sports. She played softball, basketball, and volleyball. She was a huge fan of the Fulton Falcons and also loved the Tennessee Vols. Brooke loved watching her son play football, basketball, and baseball. Although she was not a majorette or a cheerleader, you would often find Brooke twirling a baton in the driveway and stomping and clapping in the kitchen. She loved to sing at the top of her lungs even though she could not carry a tune in a bucket. She loved to laugh. Brooke absolutely loved going to the beach and to the mountains. She was happiest spending time with her family and close friends and, of course, any time spent with her son. Brooke was of the Christian Faith. We are at peace knowing she is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior and we will all be together again one day.
Brooke was preceded in death by her “Granny” Faye Crass-Marsh; aunts, Kristi Black Walker, Pamela Nelson, Christy Skeen, and Linda Stevens; cousin, Ronda Romines. Brooke is survived by her son, Landon Lightfoot; her “Popaw and MiMi” Bob and Brenda Black; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 2:00pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. Service to be officiated by Pastor Tim Parker.
