He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years Sharon; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jeff Dunn; Sister, Patricia Houser, many nieces, nephews and most cherished loyal friend “Buster”.
He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Johnnie Mae Kelly; brother-in-law, Billy G. (Jerry) Houser.
Cotton honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973. During his service he received a rank of CTR3. After military service, he worked at Robertshaw for over 30 years, Ruby Tuesday Corporation for 5 and became a Baptist Minister at the age of 55. He received his Doctor of Theology with Christian Bible College of Rocky Mount, NC. He was the minister of Grace Baptist Church Seymour for 8 years prior to retiring due to illness. He enjoyed various outdoor activities including lawn mowing, gardening, fishing, hunting and photography. His greatest passion was his ministry and teachings.
All are welcome to pay respects during a Call at Convenience on Tuesday November 15, 2022 from 10:00AM until 5:00PM at Berry Highland South Funeral Home in the Magnolia Chapel. Family and friends will gather for a Graveside service officiated by Reverend Shane Maples; with Military Honors, on Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 1:00PM at Berry Highland South Cemetery in the Garden of Valor.
