Charles Edward Austin

It is with deep sadness that the family of Charles Edward Austin, age 71, announces his sudden passing on October 22, 2017. Charles was born in Bristol, TN and moved to Knoxville in 1972. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church. He had a very goofy personality and could always put a smile on everyone’s face. He gave the best hugs and sang the best songs. He had the biggest heart and treated everyone like family. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all, who loved his family very much. Preceded in death by father James Ernest Austin, his mother Bertha Day Austin, sister, Deborah Sue Austin and brother, Fred Austin. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Austin, son Mark Austin (Roni), daughters Tammy Galbraith (Bill), Paula Yarnell (Jason) and Robin McCarty; grandkids, Brian, Danielle, Keegan, Morgan, Katelyn, Emily, Brandon, Kirkland, Carly and William; great grandkids, Caylee, Kyler, Maddox, Riley and Ian; his sisters, Pat McElyea, Linda Lingerfelt (Bill), Laverne Dancy (Sonny), Sandra Eads (Hookie); brother Hugh Austin (Cheryl) The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 5-7 pm in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jim Floyd, officiating. Burial will be held in Lynnhurst Cemetery on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 am.
