She was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands and lived through WWII and the Nazi occupation of Amsterdam. She met her husband, Robert, in 1962 and spent the next 18 years as a military spouse of the United States Air Force (USAF). She and Robert settled in Colorado Springs, CO where they lived for 31 years and the past 8 years, she lived in Oak Ridge, TN. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother (Oma), great-grandmother and friend.
She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, reading, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 47 years (Robert), and sister (Johanna). She is survived by her daughters Jody Crisp of Clinton, TN and Andrea Slate (Stacy) of Montrose, Colorado; grand-children Kristen Webb (Aaron) of Clinton, TN, Brooke Hamby of Oak Ridge, TN, Steven Slate (Ashley Walnut) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Lauren Slate of Colorado Springs, CO; great-grandchildren, Blair, Jax, Ava, and Kason. Special niece and nephew, Patrick Wade (Bryan) and Tina Wade as well as special cousin, Carla (Pino) Soggiu-Holzmann.
