Our beloved, Carl H. Kennedy (Pippy) age 77, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Carl was born on September 8,1947, and is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda, daughter, Carla, and granddaughter, Kate. Carl loved his three girls and was dedicated to each of them. Carl and Linda were high school sweethearts who married at the young ages of 18 and 19 in 1966. While in the United States Army, Carl served as a Combat Engineer in the Vietnam War. He was vibrant, outgoing, entertaining, and celebrated life every day. He'll be deeply missed by all.
Carl found great joy in being Kate's rodeo manager and was known as the "Rodeo Pippy" by all of their friends. Pippy and Kate traveled to rodeos all over the southeastern and midwestern United States with their faithful companion, Piper, and Kate's three horses, Kali, Bodie, and Texas. He truly enjoyed helping Kate care for her horses and supporting her passion for rodeo and was always ready to make her laugh.
Loved dearly by everyone who knew him, Carl was to others whatever they needed him to be - father, friend, teacher, and more. He was a tenderhearted gentle giant. Giving his time and talents, Carl served faithfully and was a charter member at NorthStar Church, where he was known as the Doughnut Man. He was also a very influential teacher of the Royal Ambassador's class for many years.
