Bobby (Bob) Grant Reece, age 84, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Parkwest Hospital. Bob devoted his life to the love and support of his family. He was available with advice, support, or whatever else was necessary to help the people he loved. Bob had a long and successful career with AT&T and some of the Bell Companies. He lived in cities across the eastern United States including Knoxville, Nashville, Birmingham, and New Orleans. When he retired, he and Ruthie came home to Knoxville as fast as they could. No matter where they lived, Knoxville was always home. Bob was an avid sportsman during his working years, but especially in retirement. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true love was the sport of golf. He taught these skills to his son and grandson. He learned how to make golf clubs after he retired and made a set for Bobby, Sean, and Steve. They still use and cherish those clubs today. Later in life, Bob was active with tax preparation with AARP. He used his skills he learned in business to help the elderly in Knoxville with preparing and filing their tax returns at no charge and became a valued member of the AARP team. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ulyess and Lorea Reece and the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Mary Ruth (Ruthie) Reece. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Grant Reece, Jr. and Brenda; grandson, Sean Grant Reece; nephew/son, Steve Balltrip (Debbie); great-nieces, Lauren Guion (Josh) and Maggie Balltrip; nieces, CJW Henson (JD), and Carol Arnhart Henson; nephews, Neil Arnhart (Wendy) and David Henson.
