Betty J Long

Long, Betty Jo, age 76, of South Knoxville, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Betty loved to travel, bowl and tell jokes, but her greatest love was her husband and grandchildren. She retired from the University of Tennessee after many years of service. Preceded in death by husband, Robert H. Long; grandson, Thomas Lowe; sisters, Lil, Irene, Molly, Libby; brothers, Bill, Ott and Thomas Sise and parents, Gilbert and Cynthia Sise. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Larry Lowe; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kay Long; grandchildren, Amy Long, David Long and wife, Tye, Bobby Lowe and wife, Erin, and Michael Lowe; great-grandson, Thomas Lowe; sisters, Margaret Potter, Hettie Pease, Bessie Roberts; brother, Frank Sise; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m., Dr. Deron Cobb officiating.
