Bertha Mae Thomas

Bertha Mae Thomas, 94, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2016. She was a loving mother and a member of Gospel Baptist Church in South Knoxville. She was loving and faithful to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maude Walker; husband, Ishmael Thomas, Sr.; brothers, Fred, Faith, Bob, Bud, and Rufus Walker; and sister, Bonny Collins. She is survived by her son, Ish Thomas, Jr.; daughter, Priscilla Goodwin; grandchildren, Barry Thomas (Robin), Donovan Thomas, Dwight Goodwin (Sherry), Logan Shultz (Jason), and Morgan Hernandez (P.J.); great-grandchildren, Tyler Goodwin, Kala Hernandez, Emma Grace Shultz, Dakota Thomas, and Dylan Thomas; and sisters, Gladys Hunley, Jean Bean, and Elizabeth Alexander. There will be a receiving of friends from 5-7pm on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Berry Funeral Home (3704 Chapman Hwy. Knoxville, TN 37920). There will be a funeral service at 10:30am on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Berry Funeral Home, with a procession to Greenwood Cemetery following the service.
