Barbara Ruth Webb, age 82, a home maker and beloved mother passed away at her west Knoxville residence April 14, 2022. She was of the Baptist faith. Barbara was born October 28, 1939, in Bulls Gap, TN. On September 30, 1957, she married Ted Lee Webb and soon after became a military (Navy) wife supporting Ted during this career until his retirement in 1977. Ted and Barbara raised two sons, Michael and David. Barbara enjoyed gardening (killing plants), playing the piano, as well as watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Developing a passion for animals at an early age, Barbara was a lifelong animal lover of cats, dogs and occasional raccoons that visited. She never missed watching the Westminster Kennel Club annual dog show. Barbara was a 44-year member and Past Worthy Matron of Acacia - May Chapter 24 of the Order of The Eastern Star.
Barbara was preceded in death by Ted, her husband of 49 years May 2007, her Mother Verneil Ann Richards, In-Laws Clell E. Webb and wife Ella Huling Webb as well as Brother-in-Law Robert E. Webb. Survived by her sons Michael D. Webb and wife Sandra, and David A. Webb; grandchildren Christopher W. Webb and wife Diane Disormea Webb of Rolla, KS, Sarah B. Webb and boyfriend Kyle Anderson, Zachary M. Webb all of Knoxville; numerous relatives, friends and very special to her was Mark Russell of Mystic, CT and Marty Hickman of Gulf Breeze, FL. Our family wishes to express our appreciation to Dr. John Cooper and staff of Summitt Medical Group, Dr. Lee R. Dilworth and staff of Knoxville Heart Group as well as UT Medical Center Hospice Services for their care and special treatment of Barbara.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Berry Highland Memorial on Kingston Pike. An Eastern Star Funeral Service will be conducted by Acacia - May Chapter 24. Services will be held graveside Monday, April 25, 2022, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Richard Long of Greenville, TN officiating.
