York, Amanda Long Hoskins-age 31, of South Knoxville, passed away on October 17 at U.T. Hospital. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by father, Everette Long, grandparents Bill and Lillian Long, aunt, Sherry Leighton and uncle, Pete Long. Mandie was a warm and caring person and loved by many. She is a 1999 graduate of The King’s Academy where she was a middle school cheerleader and on the high school golf team. Amanda (Mandie) is survived by her loving family, husband Gavin York; daughter, Taylor Hoskins, age 11; son, William York, age 6. Also, survived by mother, Kristi Russell and brother William Sweat; stepmother, Shelly Longmire; stepbrother, Michael Longmire; grandparents, Gene and Marian Scarlett; aunts, Carolyn Hahn, Sherrie Long, Mickey Long and Jane Wright; uncles Michael (Amy) Scarlett, Curtis and Fred Long; special friends, Jamie Hoskins, Denise Hoskins, Natalie Johnson, Adam Bolinger, Tommy Young, Nate Brenneman; special cousins, Ashley Green, Megan Edwards, Jennifer Scarlett, Jessica Boatwright, Zack Scarlett, Misty Strevel, Anthony Long, Tonya Burnette, Sissy Long and many other cousins and friends too numerous to list. Special thanks to the many caring doctors and nurses in the critical care unit of U. T. Hospital. The family will receive friends 11:00-12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm.
