It has been a number of years since I have lived in the area but remember the happy times our family had with our friends and neighbours, yours  being one of them . 
Peter took pride in his work and family and was a good friend always willing to help out when needed. I shall remember him as a kind, soft spoken man and know you will keep the many good memories close to your hearts.

I owned Oden Machine Works Inc. and supplied PRWelding with all the truck spindles he required for his business.
I dealt with Peter 3 or 4 times a week for 25 continuous years.
I have never met a finer gentleman and looked forward to our meetings each and every time.
I missed him when he sold his business and retired, and I miss him now.
He really did love his business and the social part of meeting the truck shops every day of the week
His family and friends should be proud that he was part of their lives

Kirsten and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Peter passing. Having got to know him over the years I have always enjoyed our conversations at the pharmacy. Thinking of you and extending sympathies. 

It is with sadness that I write this honoring dear Peter.We have known each other for almost 50 years. Our relation has been growing steadily since. We first met, when Peter and my cousin Kirsten were visiting my home in Denmark with Paul was about 1½ years old. Time and geographical distance were irrelevant to us. Peter became my best friend, and thanks for that, Peter!
One night with us here in 2006, Peter spontaneously over a couple of beers told me a part of his life story over four hours: Plenty for a biography and as a movie. So modest a hero despite all he had accomplished. 
At the age of 15 he left home in Stenum by Loekken, Vendsyssel, Denmark with his backpack. At first Peter tried enlist in the French Foreign Legion, they asked him to wait a few years. Then his journey continued to the USA as a deck boy by ship! Peter was only 16 when he managed to enlist as American soldier in the Korean War. Only I know his story also from the Korean War at the bottom of a river barge, where the machine gun fire whistled around his ears, or as they made their way through the jungle with a machete, which was also used there for other purposes! It was a privilege not least that I was to be initiated into his story, among other things, about the Korean War.
Peter and Kirsten celebrated us here in 2013, and we attended Peter’s 80th birthday. three months ago Kirsten and Peter held a ‘diamond’ wedding. Two weeks ago he saw his first great-grandchild. Christmas Eve at 19 hours Danish time (1 p.m. EST), I had a special sensation and texted Kirsten …. Later on Kirsten wrote that Peter passed away at 1 p.m. (EST) at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Now it's quiet ... “You saw what you were searching for, you learned your melody ... Now you're gone, but see you again, my friend!” Honoring the Memory of Peter. Rest In Peace!*

*My transcript of a Danish song ”Nu er der stille ... Du fik set det, du ville, du fik lært din melodi ... Nu er du borte, men vi ses igen, min ven!”

Dear Mrs. Rasmussen, Paul, Kelly, Pauline and families,

I have many fond memories of Mr. Rasmussen. He loved his family very much. He was generous with his time and patient with us kids.  He was soft spoken, kind and he seemed to always have a twinkle in his blue eyes.

My dad had the unique ability to make everyone he encountered feel special.  He had the rare talent to stop and listen to others and never had the need to be the centre of attention.  He had the ability, that few have, to observe and learn from others. Although he didn’t have the opportunity to obtain a formal education, my dad was one of the smartest people I know. He taught me to never pass judgement on someone because of their education or profession and that the best education is what we can learn from each other.  He instilled in us the value of hard work; that if you wanted something you needed to work hard to achieve it and to never give up.  He showed us strength, resilience and determination.  
I am forever grateful for the times we had together, for his support and for his generosity that he showed to us all . I will miss him dearly.  Love you Dad.
