Patricia Lou Becker

With great sadness and tearful sighs of relief we announce that Patricia Becker passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 9, 2019 at St. Andrew’s Terrace in Cambridge at the age of 71 years.

Pat was the loving wife of Murray for over 51 years, cherished Mother of Richard (Annette Featherstone) and Debbie (Todd Shoemaker), and very special Grandma to Avery, Kaylyn, Adam, and Sarah. She will be dearly missed by her sister and best friend, Bonnie Bauman (Willis). Pat will be fondly remembered by her many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and long-time friends. Predeceased by her loving parents, Allan and Lillian (Leibold) Dahms.

Pat spent her childhood in New Dundee and then raised her own family, together with Murray, while living at Wrigley’s Corners, near Ayr. As a devoted wife and mother, her family was always her most important priority and her proudest accomplishment. She spent her entire career working for the Waterloo County School Board and was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in New Dundee. She spent many hours supporting her children in their sports, education, and activities, and volunteered for several years with Ayr Minor Softball Association. She loved to garden and enjoyed spending time with friends at her book club and at her painting group. Even up until her last days, her dry wit kept a smile on the faces of everyone around her.

Pat’s family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Andrew’s Terrace for the genuine love and care that was shown to us all, particularly in the final days.

Visitation will be held at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener, on Saturday, December 21 at 10:00 am, directly followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or the St. James Lutheran Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
