Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on June 19, 2014 ending her year long struggle with cancer. Beloved wife of Brian Anderson, dear mother of Jennifer and Bill of Kingston and Laura and Sean of Toronto, and extremely proud Granny Lou to Liam. Daughter of Elva Stroud and the late Merle Stroud of Burlington and sister to John and Sue of Barrie, Ron and Gail of Burlington and Don and Joan of Burlington. Mary Lou and Brian met in Burlington, where she became the first O.P.P. female police officer in Burlington but left the O.P.P. when Brian was transferred. Mary Lou travelled to different locations in Ontario with her family making new friends and encouraging her daughters to reach for the stars. Upon retirement Mary Lou and Brian settled in Kitchener and Mary Lou began working at the L.C.B.O. now on Fairway Rd. where she made many friends and mastered the art of driving a lift truck at 55+. Mary Lou was very appreciative of the cards and many thoughts and prayers from her family and friends both in Ontario and from the Pine Ridge III community in Florida. A very heart filled thank you to the Doctors and Nurses who looked after Mary Lou at Grand River and St. Mary’s.
