Walsh: John (Jack) Wilfred: It is with great sadness that the Walsh Family announces the peaceful passing of Jack Walsh in his 94th year at the Grand River Hospital on Monday, August 20th, 2012, with family by his side.
Loving husband of Margaret (Peggy) Kennedy-Walsh, mother of Richard and his wife Olga of St. Augustine Florida.
Predeceased by his first wife Olga (nee Boehm) and daughters Terese and Anne. Cherished father of David, Maureen, Joseph and Barbara and beloved grandfather of Django, Steven, Dylan, John and Austin.
Predeceased by his parents John A. Walsh and Johannah Murphy, two brothers Austin and Harold and sister Marguerite Fedy.
Jack was a member of St. Gregory Church, Cambridge, the Knights of Columbus and had served with the Canadian Army overseas as a Captain in the Second World War. He was a salesman all his life and had been employed with A.B. Caya for 39 years until his retirement in 1986. Jack loved a good game of golf and was very avid in that sport all his life.
Jack will be fondly remembered by family and treasured friends for his smile, sense of humour, charm, integrity, courage and strength.
At Jacks request there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, August 25th, 2012 at St. Gregory’s Church at 11:00 am, 10 St. Gregory’s Drive in Cambridge.
Donations may be made to the Cardiac Care unit of St. Mary’s Hospital though the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home 519-745-9495.
