It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Wigle announces his peaceful passing at home on March 27, 2012 surrounded by his loving family in his 90th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Katherine (March 8, 2010), his parents Tessie and Orley Wigle and 5 siblings. Jack was the loving father of Sharon and her Husband, Lou Zister. Dear Grandfather to Sharilou (Mark), Shelly (Darren), Sean (Amy), Shannan (Adam). Great-Grandfather to Rebecca, Trevor, Taylor, Brett, Katelyn, Sadee, Tamika, Eli, Xavier, Zachary and Desmond.
Jack was Vice-President for 45 years at K-W Food Services, a family owned business. He was a past member of Westmount Golf and Country Club, The Royal Canadian Military Institute, OPP Veteran’s Association, a founding member of Waterloo County Revolver Association, Director of Resorts Ontario, President of the Canadian Restaurant and Food Association, Chamber of Commerce member, Kitchener K of C and Waterloo K of C Retirees. In 1954 he volunteered for the Civil Defence Auxiliary, which led him to be a founding member of the Kitchener OPP Auxiliary Program. After 30 years of service, he retired as Auxiliary Superintendent of all 16 Ontario Units. Jack was an avid card player, traveler, snowbird at Delray Beach and Orillia cottager. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West on Sunday April 1st from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 11 o'clock with Rev. Jack Paleczny officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. Private family interment at Woodland Cemetery.
