David Norman Morrow

Morrow, David N. Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, and was welcomed into the arms of the Lord with his family by his side on Monday, September 24, 2012 after a brief struggle with cancer. David had been in poor health for a number of years but his death was not anticipated at this time. Husband and best friend to the former Peggy Sobczuk, beloved father to Karen MacColl, Jan Morrow and Steve Breen; all of Kitchener, cherished grandpa to Beth and Zach, Jory, Ryan and Anna, brother to Bob and his wife Karon of St. Jacobs, also survived by many nieces and nephews and his special feline friend Fiona. Predeceased by his parents Earl Morrow and Mildred Koch and his stepfather James Cock. Dave was a proud member of the Guelph Royalaires Drum and Bugle Corps and worked all his life in the insurance industry and then in social services, until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed his computer and chatting with his friends on Skype, he will be remembered for his corny jokes and play on words and quirky stories and his generosity, wit and his vast knowledge about almost everything. His greatest love was his family and he loved family dinners, when family gathered together. At Dave's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A celebration of David's life will be held from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West, Kitchener, on Monday, October 1st at 1:00 pm, reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre and donations may be made to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre as expressions of sympathy through the funeral home.
