Thinking about you the other day I realized that I had not thanked you for sticking up for me. I will always remember and cherish that. So thank you. So sad that you are gone so early in your life. So much you still had to give and receive. So much life you are missing - so much we are missing.

I recently finished a book I enjoyed and my first thought was that I would pass it on to you. It took a second for me to remember and then memories of you came flooding back. So many things I want to share with you, so many thoughts to discuss with you, so much laughter you would enjoy and so much ridiculousness you would  appreciate.

6 months ago today you were taken away from us.

 My eyes can no longer see your smile,

Yet my heart still feels its warmth

My ears can no longer hear your voice,

Yet your words of wisdom are etched into every day

I can no longer hold your hand,

Yet it still guides my every step

What we see, hear, touch is only temporary

What we feel and learn and love is eternal...love you and miss you so very much!!!!!

Dear Art; It's your birthday on Sunday. I wish you were here to celebrate it but that can never be again. I miss you. I miss our lively discussions, I miss your silly giggle, I miss your terrible puns, I miss your ability to fix anything and everything, I miss your smile, I miss the way you always said Hi Lo every time we met, I miss your face, I miss you.

I will always remember you strumming a guitar while softly singing; working tirelessly on cars; butchering the pig! Rest peacefully knowing you are very much loved.

They say time waits for no one and when a loved one passes that,s what we all want, more time with that person.I was very fortunate. Uncle Art and I a few weeks before he passed spent a week together at my parents cottage. We worked together in the bush, started everything there with a motor (one of his loves), fished together and in the evening our time, not knowing how precious it was was spent filled with good conversation. He told me so many stories of his life,s journey, his father, family and friends. In that time together is when i realized i was not just his nephew but also his friend. I miss him so.We had so many plans together but time stole him from us. I know, in time,our sorrow will be replaced by the love we have for him and we can enjoy our fond memories that each of us had with Arthur, but not just yet. The second you love someone you also sign up for the pain there passing causes you. Much love and respect to you my uncle, my friend.
