Father Busch will be sadly missed by his sisters, Grace Strauss of Elmira, Rita and her husband Edward (Ted) MacLean of Kitchener, Glady Martin and her husband (Ron Berger) and Mary Ament all of Waterloo, 20 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Charles A. Busch and Isabella Schnarr, a brother John in infancy, his sister, Ann Huber also brothers-in- law, August (Gus) Martin, Jerome Strauss, Jerome Huber and Glenn Ament.
Father Busch was born in St. Clements, On., on November 18th, 1927 where he received his early education and then worked on the family farm for eight years before attending St. Jerome’s High School, Kitchener to continue his education. After graduating from St. Jerome’s College he attended St. Augustine’s Seminary in Scarborough and was ordained to the priesthood on May 28th, 1960 and retired in June of 1995. During his priesthood he served as parish priest in Hamilton, Hanover, Stoney Creek, Guelph, Kitchener, Cambridge, Markdale, Arthur, Linwood and Maryhill. After his retirement he helped out in many different parishes throughout the diocese.
The family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St.W. Kitchener, Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 where Parish Prayers will be recited at 8:30 P.M., Father will be removed to St. Clement's Church, St. Clements, on Wednesday where visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Douglas Crosby officiating. Interment will be held in St. Clement's Cemetery.
