Mum passed away peacefully at home after a sudden and unexpected illness, with her great love of 28 years, Bruce Hutchings by her side.
She is survived by her children Savannah Sattler (Steve), Victoria Raab (Mike) and Paul de Wet (Ashley), whom she loved unconditionally; by her grand-daughters Stella Anne Raab and Taylor Susanne de Wet, whom she adored with her whole heart; and by her daughter by heart, Laura Hutchings, whom she loved deeply.
Born to John Daniel (d. 1992) and Jean Beresford (d. 2005), Anne was the second of five children, sharing a spirited childhood with best friend and big sister Robin, and siblings Jim, George and Margaret.
To be loved by Anne was to know a love like no other. She had the unique ability to win the hearts of all those she touched in life, becoming another daughter to her very special ‘Ma’ (Daphne de Wet, d. 2009). She was a much-loved aunt, great-aunt and confidant to extended family and friends; is loved and missed by Greg Hutchings (Christine), Natalie, Claudia and Jackson Hutchings.
Anne’s adventurous spirit and endless capacity to love is the legacy she leaves her children and grandchildren. From Arizona to Zimbabwe she made countless friends along the way. She was brave and strong, compassionate and kind, and a force to be reckoned with on the links.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2nd from 3 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener (519-743-8900).
