Allan Gregory MacKinnon

Born to Angus and Elsie (predeceased) on April 5th, 1949 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Married to the love of his life Maureen (McNeil) on July 14, 1972 (predeceased) and survived by his three children Sheila (Tim) Milani their two children Darren (Lee) and Kristin. Stephanie and her three children Jenna, Spencer and Briana, Greg (Laurie) and their 5 children Amber, Miranda, Maura, Grace and Aidan. Also survived by his 15 great grandchildren who he loved and cherished.

Brother to Mae (Ronald-predeceased), James (Cheryl), Jean (Norman-predeceased), Marilyn (Tom), Robert (predeceased) (Louise), Linda (Cecil). He was lovingly referred to as Son to Husband, then Dad/ Pops and Peepa to 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and to his Northern clan simply Uncle.

Allan had a tremendous heart of gold and gave the tightest hugs, he helped anyone who needed it. He was a lover of books and knowledge and music from any era. He enjoyed building and fixing projects, spending time outside alone on a walk surrounded by nature, or with family around the fire. Allan also enjoyed being in the kitchen whether it was baking or creating a new dish after seeing it on a cooking show just to put his unique twist on it. He was always up for a good game of crib, euchre or yahtzee.

He was a company man with Budd’s until he retired, a union man through and through. Always watching out for his coworkers, ensuring their safety and willing to stop the line for the greater good.

Allan loved to travel near and far. Enjoyed the open road and adventures along the way. He’d been out west a few years ago and was making plans with his son to return to the east coast one more time.

Allan's family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Williamsburg cemetery.
