He was born to Cecil and Jessie King on August 7, 1943 in Regina, SK. After graduating from grade 12 at Western Christian College (Weyburn) in 1962, he worked at farms and on oil rigs until he met his future wife Heather while she was pursuing her nursing degree in Brandon, MB. They were married July 14, 1969 in Regina. Together they had four children: Martin, Melanie, Owen, and Jonathan.
Dale was involved in the community by serving on the school board in Kipling, a leader with the boy scouts and as an elder in the Moose Mountain Church of Christ.
He was especially passionate about three things in life - his faith, his family and his farm. The church family was always important to him and he especially enjoyed the monthly fellowships at the farm playing softball, roasting hotdogs and praising God. He loved the family farm and was proud to continue farming the land that his great-grandfather homesteaded. He was adept at fixing almost anything and was a good carpenter, electrician, plumber, mechanic, welder, veterinarian and virtually anything else needed on the farm. He especially enjoyed the animals he raised and had many stories about his favourites over the years.
Most of all Dale loved his family. His kids always knew they were loved and were told that no matter what they did or what happens that they can always come home. He loved spending time with all of his grandchildren and they were each very precious to him.
Dale was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Jessie; granddaughter Jessica; sister Margaret Kulczycki and his half-brother Russell Forsberg.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Heather; children: Martin King of Kipling, Melanie King of Saskatoon, Owen (Juanelle) King of Midale, and Jonathan (Dawn-Marie) of Regina; grandchildren Marshall, Miranda, Sarah, Janessa, Claire, and Elijah; sister Dorothy (Ron) of Virden, MB; brother-in-law Mike Kulczycki of Winnipeg, MB as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
An Appreciation of Life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moose Mountain Church of Christ with officiant Ray McMillan. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
