Born in New York to Sicilian immigrants Umberto and Josephine Masotto, Rosalie was the second of four daughters. She was the first in her extended family to graduate college and in 1953 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College. Rosalie taught in Public School 126 in Astoria, Queens for several decades. She returned to her alma mater Queens College years later where in 1983 she received her Master's degree in Special Education. She worked in Public School 91 in Glendale, Queens until her retirement.
Rosalie was a selfless and dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend. She is remembered by extended family, friends and former students.
Rosalie is survived by her children: Linda Jo, Joseph Jr., Michele, David, Paul, and her grandchildren: Daniela, Domenico, Francesca, Daviana, Benedetta, Joseph, Harmony, Tristan.
She was preceded in death by her only love and husband Joseph, loving daughter Andrea, dear sisters Josephine and Gloria.
It was Rosalie's wishes that she be cremated. The family will hold a memorial service at a future date.
